Phil Mickelson Becomes Oldest Player To Win a Major

Phil Mickelson is making up for lost time. After failing to win a major in the first 11 years of his professional career, Mickelson became the oldest player to win a major championship on Sunday, capturing the PGA Championship as a 50-year-old.

Mickelson entered the final round of the PGA Championship with a one-shot lead over Brooks Koepka; cruising to victory by shooting a one-over 73 on Sunday, finishing two shots ahead of Koepka and Louis Oosthuizen. It was Mickelson’s second career PGA Championship crown and his first in 16 years. The 16-year gap between wins was also the longest time between PGA Championship victories in PGA history.
