As theater of the absurd, Sarah Palin is a Broadway hit — a show that’s going to run for 30 weeks straight, or however long that Donald Trump stays in the race (I have my doubts that it will be that long).
Whenever Palin surfaces on the political scene, it reminds me of when the Darlings turn up on The Andy Griffith Show — they’re the banjo-picking family that come down from the mountains periodically to find a husband for dim-witted but pretty Darlene, or a job for one of their sons, or a restraining order for rock-throwing halfwit Ernest T.
