We broke the story ... 92-year-old Merchant was rushed to the emergency room just days before Christmas, and things appeared bleak for the former HBO Boxing commentator.
But, Larry himself tells us he's on the mend!
Merchant says he was diagnosed with vertigo, but after receiving treatment, he was sprung from the hospital after just a few days.
