Marc Stein of the New York Times reports Dallas Mavericks star Kristaps Porzingis has been fined $50,000 for visiting a club, violating the league’s protocol, regardless of vaccination status.

Porzingis allegedly visited a club on May 23; however, the league deemed that his visit “did not create risks related to the spread of COVID-19 and therefore no quarantine is necessary.” He is expected to play in a Game 2 matchup with Los Angeles Clippers Tuesday.
A primary playmaker for the Mavericks, Porzingis played 36 minutes in the Mavericks Game 1 113-103 victory on May 22, scoring 14 points, four rebounds and one assist.
