To be fair, Kevin Durant is by no means the first person to acknowledge that Knicks rookie and Latvian billboard king Kristaps Porzingis is a freak of nature when it comes to professional basketball. He is, however, the first to highlight the true mythology surrounding the young big man by referring to him metaphorically as a unicorn.
The 20-year-old phenom, listed at 7’3″, is averaging 14 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game this season. Oh, and he can nail three-pointers and makes over 85% of his foul shots. So obviously the media wasted no time in asking Durant about Porzingis ahead of the Thunder’s match up with the Knicks in New York on Tuesday.
