Keith Yandle is one step closer to etching his name in the NHL history books by playing in his 915th consecutive game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night. In doing so, Yandle passed Garry Unger for the second-longest consecutive games played streak in NHL history.
With 50 more consecutive regular season games played, Yandle can pass Doug Jarvis for the NHL’s ironman streak at 965. According to Cap Friendly, Yandle has two years remaining on his deal with the Panthers, which means that unless he is bought out or traded, he could surpass the record with the Panthers next season.
