Actress Kate Mara and her sister Rooney are the closest thing we have to NFL royalty, and it’s in a way that is unlikely to ever be replicated. They are the great-granddaughters of both New York Giants founder Tim Mara and Pittsburgh Steelers founder Art Rooney, Sr.
That’s right: their dad’s family owns the Giants and their mom’s family owns the Steelers.
Their father, Timothy Christopher is a scout and the VP of player evaluation for the Giants, and the brother of current Giants co-owner and CEO John Mara. Their mother is Kathleen Rooney, the granddaughter of Art Rooney Sr and sister of current Steelers co-owner and president Art Rooney II.
