The Montreal Canadiens official Twitter account confirmed that Jeff Petry would not return to Game 3 against the Winnipeg Jets after departing with an upper-body injury.

According to Elliotte Friedman, Petry appeared to get a finger caught in a photo hole along the glass.

Petry is third on the Habs in ice-time, playing an average of 24:44 per game this postseason. He’s also the highest-scoring defenseman with three points in the playoffs, with two of those coming on the powerplay. Petry had played just over 16 minutes before departing.
Petry’s absence leaves a big gap in the Habs’ top-four defensemen.
