Giancarlo Stanton out of the lineup for the Yankees on Saturday

Giancarlo Stanton is not in the starting lineup for the Yankees on Saturday, NBCSports.com reports. There doesn’t seem to be an injury in play here, just a routine day of rest for the Yankees’ designated hitter. Manager Aaron Boone has been judicious in giving regular days off to both Aaron Judge and Stanton as the team will do anything it possibly can to keep them healthy over the long season.

Stanton being rested Saturday makes sense as it’s a day game after a night game, and the Yankees are playing the Tigers, one of the lesser teams in the American League.
