We return from our trip to Russia and continue with the American ladies of Rio. Today we get “set” with Kelly Murphy, opposite hitter for Team USA. Hailing from Wilmington Illinois, this gorgeous volley baller is beautiful, yet dangerous. An extremely gifted player with expert awareness and dominant speed, Murphy was a standout from the start. During her time at Florida, she became the first player in school history to earn National Freshman of the Year honors. Murphy has always aspired to reach Olympic caliber, saying everything she’s ever worked for has been to reach the games.
A threat on any court, Murphy has proven herself earning Gold medals in both the FIVB World Grand Prix (2015) and Pan American Cup (2013).
