I was glad to see George Washington trending on Twitter — it’s about time the Father of Our Country got some publicity. He was on there just ahead of “Yogi Ferrell”, but behind “#Scandal Season 5”. If only Washington had made himself king, he might beat out an ABC drama series.
But actually it was for his namesake university in Washington D.C., which won the NIT Tournament tonight with a 76-60 win over Valparaiso. So how does this work — are the Colonials the 69th best team in the nation? Or do they pass over the NCAA first-round losers, including Michigan State?
