French Pole Vaulter Rips Brazilian Crowd For Heckling, Compares Ordeal To Jesse Owens In Berlin

No, Brazil has not been the best Olympics host. French pole vaulter Renaud Lavillenie won the silver medal on Monday night, losing out to Brazil’s Thiago da Silva, who won gold. Lavillenie said that the difference was that the crowd was heckling him so severely that he lost his concentration.
