The Chicago Cubs have released Friday’s lineup against the Cardinals, and there’s a familiar name that’s penciled in as Javier Baez makes his return after missing the last three games with a sore thumb.
While he hasn’t really hit for average (.240) this season, Baez has been able to hit for power as he’s hit 14 home runs and driven in 39 RBI’s. His teammates deserve some credit as they took two of three games on the road against the Padres with Baez sidelined.
At 35-27, the Cubs are well ahead of their projected win total of 78.
