Cowboys WR Amari Cooper Is Still Sidelined Following Ankle Surgery

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy clarified Amari Cooper’s absence from minicamp by stating the wide receiver is still working his way back from ankle surgery. According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, McCarthy hopes Cooper will be able to participate in full team activities by training camp.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said WR Amari Cooper “is still working through” ankle injury, hence why he hasn’t practiced this spring. McCarthy “hopeful” that Cooper will be ready for start of training camp. Cooper had surgery this offseason.

What’s most surprising is that no one really knew Cooper even had surgery until the six-year veteran uploaded a picture of his ankle in a walking boot on Instagram with the caption, “Surgery was a success.
