The Cleveland Indians have been pretty good at baseball lately, which in turn means that the controversy surrounding the racist caricature that serves as their logo has been reinvigorated.
The Indians made it all the way to Game 7 of the World Series this past season, and during that time they continued to wear the white home uniforms and blue alternate uniforms that featured their mascot: a red-faced Native American named “Chief Wahoo” that many rightfully feel should be retired for good.
Now the team has finally decided to catch up with the times. Kind of.
