Brewers Trade Former Top Prospect Orlando Arcia to Braves

The Milwaukee Brewers have decided to move on from Orlando Arcia at shortstop. With Luis Urías set to replace him, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Arcia was traded to Atlanta in exchange for right-handed pitchers Patrick Weigel and Chad Sobotka.

According to the Brewers president of operation David Stearns, the club had been exploring trade options for Arcia for a few months. And with a surplus of infielders already in their organization, Milwaukee saw it prudent to acquire some pitching arms in return.

Last year, Arcia’s .260 average was the highest on the Brewers team, but he could never replicate his 2017 season when he hit .
