Angels to Limit Shohei Ohtani to 75 Pitches in Tuesday’s Start

Rhett Bollinger for MLB.com reports that the Angels will limit Shohei Ohtani to 75 pitches in Tuesday’s start against the Rangers. This will only be Ohtani’s second start of the season after a blister on his pitching hand forced the Angels to skip his turn.

Shohei Ohtani will be limited to about 75 pitches or so tomorrow in his return to the mound. He won't be in the lineup tomorrow as a precaution. And Ohtani will decide if he feels good enough to be DH in Wednesday's day game.

Los Angeles is being extra cautious with Ohtani as the Japanese right-hander has only made 13 starts since arriving in 2018.
