Jimi Hendrix is one of the greatest guitarists/musicians of all time, but as a 15-year-old growing up in Seattle, he was just a teenager with a penchant for Pacific Coast Conference football and drawing.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has several of young James’ illustrations on display (from 1958), featuring nondescript players from several PCC (now the Pac-12) schools, including USC, Oregon, UCLA and Cal. Writer Joe Posnanski tweeted the highlights on Wednesday:
