SAN ANTONIO – Rice volleyball earned its 17th consecutive win over UTSA, defeating the Roadrunners 3-2 at the Convocation Center on Friday night.
The Owls (16-9, 10-3 American) won the opening set 25-18 before dropping the next two 25-20 and 25-19. Rice rallied to win the final two sets 25-18 and 15-11. The victory keeps the Owls at the top of the American Conference standings as they pursue their second consecutive regular-season title.
Rice volleyball has not lost to UTSA since 2016, a stretch of 17 consecutive wins that included a 38-set winning streak.
