Winter storms to pummel Utah through Thanksgiving week

Snow was expected to begin early- to mid-morning along the Wasatch front, beginning Thanksgiving week with 1 to 4 inches of snow in the valley and up to a foot in the mountains.

Monday's storm was creeping south from Idaho as of 7:30 a.m. and was expected to reach Provo by 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. The forecast called for snow to continue through the morning and early afternoon, with flurries lingering in the mountains into Monday night.

But expect snow to strike again Wednesday, right as Thanksgiving travel picks up, with 5 to 10 inches falling in the cities along the Wasatch Front through Thursday.
