Utes QB Tyler Huntley officially is out for the season, but he may play in a bowl game

Travis Wilson and Troy Williams may not be remembered among Utah’s greatest quarterbacks, but they can say something no other Utes signal caller can in the program’s Pac-12 history. Each player lasted a full season as a starter.

Tyler Huntley’s absence — Utah announced Monday that he officially is lost for the regular season — marks the sixth time in eight seasons that Utah has needed a replacement for multiple conference games due to an
injured quarterback. Utah did not clarify the nature of Huntley’s injury, which is reportedly a broken collarbone.

Utah coach Kyle Whittingham allowed for the possibility of Huntley’s return for a bowl game, depending on when and where the Utes are assigned.
