Held in Tucson, Ariz. on Dec. 29 at 3:30 p.m. MST, Utah State (6-6) will face a New Mexico State (6-6) team that hasn’t been to a bowl game in 57 years. New Mexico State quarterback Tyler Rogers passed for 451 yards and led the late drive that earned the Aggies a 22-17 win over South Alabama on Saturday to earn the bid.
The two teams have been conference foes previously for 26 seasons while each were members of the Mountain West Conference, Sun Belt and Western Athletic Conference over the years.
Utah State returns to a bowl for the first time since losing to Akron in the Potato Bowl two years ago.
