Utah reservoirs near capacity after high snowpack levels

Ogden • A federal agency says Utah’s small and midsized reservoirs are full or almost full after the state’s snowpack has reached its deepest level in years.

The Standard-Examiner reported Thursday that the Natural Resources Conservation Service has found that the smaller reservoirs are reaching capacity and the larger reservoirs are gaining substantial runoff amounts.

The agency says in its June report that the state has "anomalously high snowpack levels in several basins."

According to the report, the Pineview Reservoir near Ogden has reached 101% of its capacity and is 13% higher than average.
