In the first installment of the RMC, Real Salt Lake netted three dramatic goals against the Rapids. Tim Howard saw a red card in the 19th minute for handling the ball outside of the penalty area. Joao Plata put RSL on the board in the 82nd minute after burying a PK, and seven minutes later Rusnák found Kreilach unmarked in the box, floated the ball in and Damir placed the ball side net for his first goal in Claret and Cobalt. In stoppage time Albert Rusnák dazzled the crowd at Rio Tinto Stadium with a free kick from 23 yards out, leaving MacMath puzzled, beating him near-post.
