Millcreek • Authorities on Friday launched a search in a canyon east of metro Salt Lake City for a missing 17-year-old hiker from California.
The boy was visiting a friend and hasn’t been seen since he took an Uber to Mill Creek Canyon Thursday morning to take an all-day hike, the United Police Department said.
The boy’s identity hasn’t been released. His mother was traveling to Utah from Fresno, police spokesman Ken Hansen said.
