Real Salt Lake — as expected, really — passed in the first stage of the MLS Re-Entry Draft today, and they were far from alone.
Only three players were selected during the draft, which is par for the course for the first stage.

The second stage of the draft is a week from today. Players will again have the opportunity to withdraw from the draft, so don’t expect the list to look exactly the same.
In the second stage, clubs have the opportunity to negotiate new contracts with players rather than take them at their current salary.
