On Monday, Real Salt Lake legend Kyle Beckerman was named Head Coach for the men's soccer program at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. The club has issued the following statement in support of its longtime captain:
"In his 14 seasons with Real Salt Lake, Kyle Beckerman wore many titles – captain, humanitarian and champion were chief among them. He was defined by his leadership on the field, his initiative and passion for community involvement and his determination to win. All of these characteristics and more will make him a tremendous Head Coach for men's soccer at Utah Valley University and we want to offer him congratulations and wish him the best of luck in his newest endeavor.
