RSL fires goalkeepers coach, promotes Monarchs assistant to interim role

Real Salt Lake's transition out of the Jeff Cassar Era continues.

On Monday, the club announced that head coach Mike Petke dismissed assistant coach Daryl Shore after 3 1/2 seasons with the franchise. Shore's title with RSL changed last offseason as the 47-year-old was named the organization's Director of Goalkeeping under Cassar.

Monarchs assistant Matt Glaesar will take over the position in the interim while a search begins for a new full-time assistant and goalkeepers coach.

"Matt has done a fantastic job with a trio of goalkeepers on the 12-1-1 Monarchs, and has earned this opportunity to share his work and knowledge of the game on the first-team staff," Petke said in a club release.
