According to reports from Meg Lineman from The Athletic and Paul Tenorio, also from The Athletic, Utah Royals FC/USWNT defender is heading to the Washington Spirit via a trade.
From this writer’s perspective, the move is not a surprising one. Kelley O’Hara currently resides in the Washington D.C. area with her partner. A move had been rumored/expected because of O’Hara’s ties to D.C., but it did not transpire before the 2020 season. Now, with the NWSL currently on hiatus, that is until continued play begins this fall, O’Hara can/will begin training with Washington as teams resume training.
