We’ve all been speculating about the potential sale price of Real Salt Lake in recent weeks, and the first somewhat definitive report has made its way out. Sports Business Journal is reporting that the sale price will start around $500 million.
It’s quite an expensive deal, but there are a few factors the article points out.
The first is that Chicago Fire had a valuation of around $400 million in September 2019. That’s a club that isn’t coming with anything close to the infrastructure of Real Salt Lake, and one should remember that the RSL Academy training facilities are included in this deal.
