Real Monarchs SLC kicked off the first All USL-Championship tournament – The Wasatch Winter Cup – with a tough 4-0 loss to Reno 1868 FC at the Zions Bank Academy in Herriman on Friday. While the result wasn’t what the Salt Lake team had hoped for, Head Coach Martin Vasquez found a lot to build off of with the introduction of many new faces.
“For First preseason game, I think we got some answers,” Vasquez said after the match. “We don’t have all our players, with what we have, we’ve been working hard and we are going to take this as a learning moment, as a learning experience.
