HERRIMAN, Utah (Wednesday, June 9, 2021) – Real Monarchs (1-3-2, 5 points) earned their first win and clean sheet of the season in a 2-0 victory over Sacramento Republic FC at Zions Bank Stadium.
Milan Iloski’s first professional goal and an eventual brace in the first half proved to be the deciding factors for the night.
Despite trailing in possession, the Monarchs led in shots on goal in the first half and two goals from Iloski gave the home side the lead at the break.
Despite the wind playing a factor offensively for Sacramento in the second half, the Monarchs' young defense stood strong and secured the team’s first shutout of the early season.
