Political Cornflakes: Democratic legislators call for heightened security in the wake of “send her back” chants

Democratic lawmakers are seeking beefed up security for congressional representatives following a Trump rally in which crowd members began chanting “send her back.” The rally goers were referring to U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, one of four congresswomen of color whom President Donald Trump recently targeted with racist tweets. When reporters asked Omar if she was concerned for her safety, she said she isn’t. “What I’m scared for is the safety for people who share my identity,” she said. [Hill]
