I know we are often told that we, as good people, shouldn’t delight in the suffering of others. I agree with that, so this is not a celebration of the sacking of Pablo Mastroeni.
I have nothing personal against Mastroeni except his time with Colorado Rapids and perhaps the shirt-stuffing incident that’s an inextricable part of our lore.
So let’s not make this personal. Mastroeni may have been an excellent person, and there’s no reason to disparage him.
Instead, let’s delight in the suffering of Colorado Rapids fans, writ large. It is our job as the league-assigned rival of the Rapids.
