A 27-year-old woman is in jail for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident after hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk, killing him.
Unified police responded to the crosswalk at 4100 South Redwood Road in Taylorsville around 9 p.m. Wednesday night. A man was found about 100 yards from the crosswalk. He was dead when the officers arrived, Lt. Brian Lohrke said.
Police do not know exactly how the man got 100 yards from the scene of the accident.
Lohrke said there were reports of a silver Cadillac Escalade running a red light, hitting the pedestrian crossing the street and then fleeing.
