Monarchs lose 1-0 on late goal by Colorado Springs Switchbacks

In deference to the compressed schedule the Monarchs came out with a couple of changes from Saturday’s victorious squad with Juan Mare starting up top in place of Hoffman and Kacher coming in on the left wing.

The Monarchs came out looking composed and bossed large stretches of the first half with high pressure and 60% of the overall possession. Despite 4 corner kicks and a large amount of possession they failed to find any joy in front of goal with only three shots total and a single on goal. On the other hand, the Switchbacks had brief moments with two balls by AJ Ajeakwa and Martin Maybin in the back of the net called back for offside and another good opportunity by Karstin Hanlen go off the post.
