Contrary to Joanne Slotnik’s opinion, expressed in the July 16 Public Forum, when I see the presence of many armed and uniformed police at a demonstration I feel more secure. I am thankful for the service and dedication of our law enforcement officers.
The presence of many or a few police officers at a demonstration or having coffee at Starbucks makes me feel safer. It does not “chill,” but encourages my right to free expression.
