Kalani Sitake says communication with BYU AD Tom Holmoe remains open, positive as losses pile up in abysmal season

BYU has lost nine games for the first time since 1955, when it went 1-9 and only defeated Los Angeles State, 33-0. It hasn’t lost 10 games in a season since it went 0-11 in 1949.

The Cougars will travel to Hawaii on Wednesday night, practice in the Islands Thursday and Friday and take on the Warriors (3-8) on Saturday at Aloha Stadium.

There are no indications that Sitake’s job is in jeopardy — Holmoe rarely speaks to the media and has not publicly said anything negative about the program’s situation the entire season — but the coach acknowledged he is aware that there are plenty of critics regarding his performance this season.
