That was Donovan Mitchell’s message to hundreds of Kearns High School students on Tuesday morning, when he was the surprise guest speaker at a special assembly thrown on the second day of school. There, he gave away backpacks and T-shirts to students who had earned the privilege, whether through higher GPAs or through other accomplishments the school wanted to recognize.
“Today, I just wanted to give back to you guys for your hard work,” Mitchell told the students, and pledged that he’d be back in the months to come with more rewards.
