Commuters, beware! Friday snowstorm expected to dump several inches on northern Utah.

Rain on Thursday will be followed by snow that reaches the valley floors on Friday in northern and central Utah.

The National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories, and the storm could affect both the morning and evening commutes.

Thursday’s storm is expected to wind down beginning in the early afternoon, but the next storm system will reach the state late Thursday — and it could bring “several inches” of snow to the valley floors in northern Utah, the National Weather Service predicts. The mountains of northern and central Utah will be hit with “heavy snowfall, with the greatest amounts along the Wasatch range.
