BYU recovers from Saint Mary’s loss with big win at San Francisco

Elijah Bryant scored 17 points and Yoeli Childs added 13 as the Cougars downed the Dons 69-59 to improve to 2-1 in West Coast Conference play and 13-3 overall. USF fell to 1-2 and 9-7.

The Cougars lost a lead they had held since the opening tip when Jordan Ratinho hit a 3-pointer with 8 minutes, 35 seconds remaining to give San Francisco a 53-51 advantage. But they recovered nicely.

Bryant hit a 3-pointer and a 2-pointer in a 30-second span to give BYU a 59-55 lead, and the Cougars were up 65-56 when Childs rammed home a dunk and Jahshire Hardnett hit a pair of free throws and made a driving layup.
