Brooklyn, N.Y. • The Steinberg Wellness Center on the Campus of Long Island University-Brooklyn is the smallest gymnasium the BYU Cougars will play in this season. On Friday afternoon, it might have felt like the rims were a a little bit smaller, too.
The Cougars struggled to find their touch from the field — and couldn’t slow down No. 25 Alabama enough on the other end of the floor — as they fell 71-59 in their first game of the Barclays Center Classic.
BYU’s Yoeli Childs scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. The forward finished 9 of 16 from the floor.
