Body of missing autistic man found in hills above Herriman

Tanner Oblad, 20, left his house in Herriman on Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. to go to school at Salt Lake Community College’s Taylorsville campus, according to the Unified Police Department. He did not bring his phone or wallet.

Oblad was last seen while leaving his home near 6000 W. Intrigue Drive (about 13600 South), according to the Department of Public Safety.

Det. Ken Hansen of the Unified Police Department said at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday that Oblad’s body was still in the process of being removed from its location by a helicopter.

Hansen said police used surveillance video from around town to establish a general search area, and the body was then discovered by a police helicopter.
