19-year-old under investigation for negligent homicide after he sold heroin to someone who overdosed and died

A Hurricane man is under investigation for negligent homicide after he reportedly sold heroin that led to a customer’s overdose death.

According to a probable cause statement, Washington City Police Department responded to a report of an overdose death on Jan. 7. Detectives served a search warrant on Gadge Leelynd Christensen, 19, who told them “that he had been the one who had arranged and sold the heroin that the victim had used the night they overdosed.”

Christensen was booked into the Washington County Jail for investigation of negligent homicide and distribution of heroin. In a separate case, he also faces misdemeanor charges for possession and use of a controlled substance.
