Based on a strong showing at the Big Ten Tournament as well as a 4th place finish in the conference regular season, Purdue has secured a #9 seed in the NCAA tournament.
The opening game will be against the #8 seed Green Bay Phoenix at Notre Dame on Friday, March 17 at 5 PM, to be televised by ESPN2. Green Bay is a mid-major team that always seems to be winners and who are up to the challenge of playing Power 5 conference teams. They lost to Notre Dame in an away game 71-67 earlier this season.
If Purdue wins their opening game, they will most likely be playing #1 seed Notre Dame on their home floor on Sunday.
