Redshirting in basketball, especially as a top 100 recruit, is rare, but Matt painter has never been afraid to do it. Tonight Purdue SID confirmed that it is happening again as both Mason Gillis and Brandon Newman will redshirt the 2019-20 season:
Newman makes some sense because he is a bit behind the other guards and there are not many minutes to be found there. Jahaad Proctor, Eric Hunter Jr., Sasha Stefanovic, Nojel Eastern, and Isaiah Thompson have those spots pretty locked up.
