Purdue Baseball: Strong lead, strong finish

The team had a big first inning, bringing in six runs.

“It definitely helps when you have the lead, you play a little bit more loosely, a little bit more confidently,” said freshman outfielder Alec Olund. “You feel more comfortable in all aspects of the game and it gets your mind in a more positive state. You don’t have to try and come back from behind.”

A solid beginning is a nice achievement, but Purdue’s recent losing streak is directly related to the team’s weak final innings.

With last night’s quick lead helping the Boilermakers, it was their aggressive offense that brought home the win.
