Purdue Athletics: Purdue Baseball and Softball to Allow 50% Capacity

It has been 2 years.

Just over 700 calendar days.

But, Purdue Baseball and Softball will be hosting games - with fans.

Both Alexander Field and Bittinger Stadium got the go ahead from the Tippecanoe County Health Department to allow 50% Capacity this season for spectators.

As more vaccines are given, the positivity rate in the state and county continue to plummet. This news today is welcomed, as just over a year ago the sports world shut down, with cancelling of seasons and not allowing spectators.

After the NCAA Tournament, NFL and even some locations in the NBA have successfully allowed spectators, I see no reason why a sport played outside cannot host.
