Purdue Alum Ryan Newman Seriously Injured at Daytona

We held off on posting about this until there was more concrete information, but you likely know by now that Purdue alum Ryan Newman was involved in a horrific crash at the end of today’s Daytona 500. Newman was coming to the finish line about to win his second Daytona 500 when Ryan Blaney appeared to cause him to spin out. Newman then hit the wall and was hit by another car, casuing his care to flip wildly down the track before landing on the driver’s side and sliding a long distance.

Newman was immediately taken to the emergency room and a long wait occurred before more was officially stated about his condition:
