Nick Sipe Retires from Purdue Football

Purdue’s depth at quarterback just got slightly more shallow as Nick Sipe, the third-year sophomore quarterback from Villa Park, California retired from football today per Gold and Black Illustrated:

Sipe was in his third season at Purdue and saw some very limited action in blowouts against Illinois, Minnesota, and Auburn. He completed his only career pass attempt for three yards at Minnesota, but the rest of his time was a plethora of handoffs.

Sipe battled a back injury this spring, however, and that moved him way back on the depth chart.
